Make your own gin at York Distillery

Make your own gin under the expert guidance of our specially-trained Gin Tutors at the York Distillery Gin School.
You'll be introduced to the wonderful world of botanicals - gaining an understanding of how flavours interact, contrast and balance.
And once we let you loose on your personal mini gin still, we ensure the gin you make perfectly suits your own unique tastes.
By the end of your York Gin School session, you will have your own unique bottle of gin. But you'll have so much more too:
Truly practical experience of the gin-making process
A deep understanding of flavour profiles - and your own favourites
An ability to taste and appreciate all future gins and spirits you drink in the future
We keep every recipe on record, so you can order a bottle of your own personal gin whenever you like in the future.

More about the York Distillery Gin School class

While you create your own gin, you'll also learn about gin's amazing legends, myths and history.
Plus you'll try a few samples and, depending on the season, you will harvest some plants directly from our garden or use locally-harvested botanicals.

Your tutor is WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust)-trained. This is the gold standard of spirits education. Our gin tutors know their stuff!

You can book our fun and fascinating gin-tasting, gin-making and cocktail-making classes for your own private group.
Or you can simply hire the space for a private party or event. We can provide fully-trained staff, depending on your exact requirements.
