York Distillery: A home of York Gin
A working small distillery, it houses York Gin's five-star tasting classes, a gin school, and other events.
The distillery is a purpose-built space in the beautiful grounds of Middleton's Hotel within York's city walls on Skeldergate.
Guests have the opportunity to see the gins being made, make their own gin to take home, and learn tricks and tips of gin and spirit tasting.
York Distillery is open 4 April 2025.
About York Gin
York Gin is a small independent distillery using traditional and sustainable methods to make some of the world's best gins.
The award-winning York Gin shop is in a beautiful 16th Century building in central York.
The idea for York Gin began in one of York's independent pubs, The Swan, between a group of friends and the landlord.
Since its launch in 2018, York Gin has won multiple gold medals at the world's top spirits competitions.
Our guiding principles are Excellence, Honesty and Kindness.
Everything we do and make is of the highest quality, we are open and honest, and we show the greatest respect to people and planet.
Powered by green energy, plastic free and sending zero waste to landfill, we are a Living Wage employer and support local charities and good causes.
Our distilleries
Our York Distillery at Middoeton's Hotel is our showcase distillery for events, gin school and classes, and small batch distillations.Our larger distillery for York Gin, and other spirits, is on Murton Lane,York, which holds our bottling facilities, our 300 litre plus stills, and warehousing.
Our distillery on Murton Lane is open to the public weekdays until 4pm.
