You will taste five premium Champagnes including a House Champagne, a Grower Champagne, a Blanc de Blanc and a Premier Cru. The selection is curated by Emma Moore for each session.
What is the cancellation policy?
A full refund is available if you cancel before the event start time. No refunds are available after the session has begun.

Yes, the Champagne tasting is strictly for guests aged 18 and over.
Is the venue accessible for wheelchair users?
The building has steps with a railing. Toilet facilities are shared via Middleton's Hotel. A hearing loop is available. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please mention this when booking and we will do our best to help.

On-site parking is available for guests of Middleton's Hotel. The nearest public car parks are Nunnery Lane and St George's Field, both around five minutes on foot. We are right in the heart of York so walking or public transport is recommended.

Hosted by Emma Moore in our beautiful speakeasy-style room on Skeldergate, each session takes you through five premium Champagnes with the kind of warmth and knowledge that makes the subject feel completely accessible, whether you know your Blanc de Blanc from your Premier Cru or are coming to Champagne for the first time.
You will taste exceptional Champagnes, enjoy expertly paired snacks and leave knowing far more than when you arrived. The bar stays open afterwards if you want to linger, and you can buy a bottle of your favourite to take home.

How to find York Distillery
York Distillery is located in the grounds of Middleton's Hotel on Skeldergate, in its own building next to the hotel gym. The entrance for visitors is on Skeldergate itself. We are right in the heart of York, a short walk from Clifford's Tower, the River Ouse and the city centre, which makes us easy to reach on foot from most parts of the city.
